Doug Berry Recognized as TEDC's 2011 Professional of the Year

The Tennessee Economic Development Council (TEDC) has recognized Douglas Berry, Vice President of Economic Development, Cleveland-Bradley County Chamber, as the 2011 Fred Harris Professional of the Year, for his significant economic development achievements in the state of Tennessee. Some of his major projects have included expansions of Whirlpool, Olin Chlor Alkali Products, Arch Chemical and Mars Chocolate North America. He is also the primary contact for the Wacker Chemie AG project and was integral in the acquisition of a planned Amazon facility in Bradley County. In total, Berry’s successes in 2010 alone involved more than $410 million in new capital investment, 2,170 retained jobs and 296 new jobs. “Doug’s ‘down home approach’ allows him to recruit industry and do business in a tough climate with a high sense of ethics and honesty,” said Mike George, Vice President of Business Development for Blaine Construction Corporation.
