Members present: Mark Herbison, Kyle Spurgeon, Doug Lawyer, Lizabeth Gray, Daryl Brady, Hollie Holt, Sharon Younger, Kayla Taylor, Suzie Lusk
Doug gave an update of the Fall Conference and speakers that they are working on bringing in to present. The Fall Conference is traditionally where the Volunteer of the Year Award is presented and discussion was held that TEDC starts to make each Fall Conference include a TEDC Awards Ceremony where the Professional of the Year is recognized again. The Professional of the Year will continue to be named during the Spring Conference, but recognized again during the Annual Awards Dinner at the Fall Conference.
It was discussed that we merge several of the TEDC awards that are presented. The Professional of the Year award to be renamed to the Fred Harris Professional of the Year and that the Volunteer of the Year be renamed the Jim Spradley Volunteer of the Year Award. This will be recommended to the full board.
An awards committee was established to include Hollie Holt, Mark Herbison and Sharon Younger. They will have a recommendation to present by the end of July.
The TEDC Day on the Hill is scheduled for February 7, 2007. We plan for a longer lunch, but will continue with the reception that evening. TEDC is looking to set up a booth at legislative plaza that will be staffed by board members that will include information about TEDC.
Regional Meetings will continue next January. It was recommended that all legislators are invited along with county officials. We may partner or include Dave Kozlow in these regional meetings.
Membership – A membership drive is planned during September of 2006. When a new member joins during this time, their membership will run from September 2006 until December 2007. A membership committee will be named and will include members from each grand division.
Newsletter – we will begin to send the newsletters to members, legislators, Commissioners, Congress, Mayors
Directory – scheduled to go out December 1, 2006.
We plan to obtain additional advertisers.
We will describe TEDC’s mission in the front of the directory and advertsing will be placed in the front, back and possibly the middle of directory.
Mark Herbison will look to set up lunch with the TEDC Board and with Commissioner Matt Kisber and Governor Phil Bredeson.
