BOARD OF DIRECTOR’S MEETING
Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Office / Conference Call
December 3, 2008
The Meeting was called to order by President Walt Wood. Members participating included Doug Lawyer, Paul LaGrange, Holly Sears and Tim Thompson.
The following board members participated via conference call: Mike Evans, Paul Latture, Spencer Sessions, Kayla Taylor and Sharon Younger with Younger Associates and Suzie Lusk with the Tennessee Chamber also participated.
Business Items included the following:
Review of Minutes
The Minutes were distributed from the October 16, 2008 Board meeting. A Motion to Approve by Doug Lawyer with a second by Holly Sears. The Motion passed unanimously.
Review of Financial Statements
Financials were presented. Approved by Paul LaGrange with a second by Holly Sears. The Motion passed unanimously. The 2009 Budget will be reviewed by Don Hurt, Walt Wood and Suzie Lusk and presented at the next board meeting.
2009 Day on the Hill
The Day on the Hill is set for March 4, 2009. Mike Evans will chair the event. A motion to charge $30.00 for the lunch portion to the Day on the Hill was presented by Doug Lawyer with a second by Holly Sears. We will not charge for the legislative event.
Spring Conference
The date is set for April 29-May 1, 2009 for Destin, FL. The program will be developed by our Vice President, Paul Latture.
Past Presidents Luncheon
The Past Presidents Luncheon will take place today at Maggionis on West End Ave in Nashville.
Fall Conference 2009
The 2009 Fall Conference will take place in East TN (probably Kingsport or Johnson City)– dates have not yet been set. We are trying to avoid September or October conflicts.
Regional Meetings
Each director is responsible for programs. We can promote on our website and newsletter. Regional Meetings can take place at any time.
Directory
The directory is almost complete and we will be able to review by the end of the week.
Follow up meeting with Commissioners
The meeting will be held with Commissioners Kisber and Farr at 2:00pm today. The agenda that will be presented is as follows:
