TENNESSEE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL BOARD OF DIRECTOR’S MEETING

The Meeting was called to order by President Doug Lawyer.  Members participating included Paul Latture, Mark Herbison, Mike Evans, Spencer Sessions, Don Hurst and David Hamilton and Paul LaGrange. Kayla Taylor with Younger Associates and Suzie Lusk with the Tennessee Chamber also participated.

Business Items included the following:

Review of Minutes
The Minutes were distributed from the February 5, 2008 Board meeting.  A Motion to Approve by David Hamilton with a second by Spencer Sessions.  The Motion passed with revisions

Review of Financial Statements
Motion to Approve by Mike Evans with a second by Spencer Sessions.
Past Due accounts will be divided up and called – we will wave the late fee this year.

Spring Conference
The TEDC Spring Conference will be held April 30 – May 1, 2008.  The schedule was reviewed, speakers are confirmed and sponsors are being solicited.

Regional Meeting
The East TN Regional Meeting was held on March 14th.  Don Hurst gave an update.  Approximately 30 people attended and was sponsored by NETVA.

The West TN Regional Meeting will be held April 23rd in Memphis.  Spencer Sessions gave an update.  This will be sponsored by TVA.

The Middle TN Regional Mtg will be held in the summer.

Dues Structure Review Committee
Don Hurst and Spencer Sessions are reviewing the dues along with Jim Stock and will be naming a Middle TN rep to help out t

By Laws Review Committee
Details of TEDC’s by laws are being revisited to include voting procedures,  absentee voting or proxies, specifying if notices of changes can by mailed or emailed?

Budget Review Committee
Paul Latture, David Hamilton and Doug Lawyer will review the budget and create a revised budget for 2008.

New Members
The following individual’s applications were reviewed for membership:
1.  Kyle Touchstone, Knoxville
2.  Brian Eftink, Miller & Martin
3.  David Hall, UT
4.  Julie Perrine, Fayette County Chamber
5.  Lillian Hartgove, Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber

There was a Motion by Paul Latture to approve the New Members Applications with a second by Doug Lawyer.  The Motion passed unanimously.
