TEDC Board Meeting Minutes

The Meeting was called to order by President-Elect Doug Lawyer at the conference room at the Knoxville Hilton.  Members participating included Kyle Spurgeon (by phone), Doug Lawyer, Walt Wood, Daryl Brady, and Lizabeth Theiss.  Suzie Lusk and Kayla Taylor also participated.  Directors Hollie Holt, Mark Herbison, David Hamilton, Paul LaGrange, and Marco Oliveri were absent.

Business Items included the following:

Minutes

The Minutes of the September 9, 2006 Meeting were distributed and reviewed.  A Motion was made by Daryl Brady to approve the Minuets.  The Motion was seconded by Walt Wood.  The Motion passed unanimously.

Financials

The Financial Statements were distributed and reviewed.  Note was made about bank expenses with $44 being for new checks, and in the future there will not be any monthly finance charges.  A motion was made by Walt Wood to approve the financial report as presented.  Daryl Brady seconded the motion which was approved unanimously.

Fall 2006 Conference

Doug Lawyer gave an update on the Fall Conference being held in Knoxville on October 18-19-20, 2006 at the Hilton Downtown.  The Program packed with lots of informative sessions.  One change to note is that Commissioner Neeley will speak and present some new information.  The golf arrangements are being completed by Darly Brady.  The Conference Banquet will be at Calhouns.  The mini commercials for sponsors will continue.

Younger Materials Expenditure

Details were distributed (attached) regarding the Membership Directory, Newsletter, Day on the Hill, Awards, and the Website.

Regarding the pop-up banners, Lizabeth Theiss made a motion to approve.  Daryl Brady seconded the motion which was unanimously approved.

Regarding the Membership Directory, Doug Lawyer made a motion to approve.  Walt Wood seconded the motion which was unanimously approved.

Membership Applications

The following applications were submitted for membership in TEDC:

Jim Holland - Holland Group

Christiana Drones - Clarksville-Montgomery County

Ray Langden - Journal Communications

Chip Bratton - Doster Construction

Mike Edison - H+M Company

A motion was made to approve the new members by Lizabeth Theiss.  Doug Lawyer seconded the motion which was unanimously approved.

TEDC Scholarship

Michelle Scarbrough, Economic Development Coordinator with the Knoxville Area Chamber Partnership was recommended for a scholarship to EDI.  A motion was made by Daryl Brady to approve.  Lizabeth Theiss seconded the motion which was unanimously approved.

TEDC Spring Conference

The Spring Conference will be held in Destin, Florida May 2-4, 2007.

There being no further Business to come before the Board, the Meeting was adjoined.
